Biography of Asad ibn Ubayd

Asad ibn 'Ubayd al-Qurazi al-Yahudi reported that Sa'id ibn Jubayr and 'Ikrimah, quoting Ibn 'Abbas, said: When 'Abdullah ibn Salam, Thalabah ibn Asid, Asad ibn 'Ubayd, and some other Jews who had accepted Islam believed and were sincere, and showed enthusiasm for it, the Jewish scholars and disbelievers: What is it but that no one has believed in Muhammad or followed him except the worst of our people, so Allah revealed: They are not all alike; among the People of the Book there are those who are steadfast [Quran 3:113], the verse.
