Asad ibn Sahl

As'ad ibn Sahl ibn Hanif. The rest of his lineage will be mentioned under his father's entry, God willing.

He was born during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ, two years before his death. His father brought him to the Prophet ﷺ, who sniffed him, named him after his maternal grandfather As'ad ibn Zurarah, and gave him his kunya. He was one of the knowledgeable and learned scholars.
