Biography of Aslam ibn Bujrah
Aslam ibn Bujrah al-Anṣārī al-Khazrajī. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entrusted him with the prisoners of Banū Qurayẓah.
Isḥāq ibn 'Abd Allāh ibn Abī Furwah reported, from Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Aslam ibn Bujrah, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ put me in charge of the prisoners of Banū Qurayẓah. I would look at the boy's private parts; if I saw that he had reached puberty, I would strike his neck.
Abū 'Umar said: The chain of narration of his hadith only revolves around Isḥāq ibn Abī Furwah, and I do not consider the attribution of Aslam ibn Bujrah to be correct. There is scrutiny regarding his companionship.
I say: It has also been reported from other than Isḥāq.
Al-Zubayr ibn Bakkār reported, from 'Abd Allāh ibn 'Amr al-Fahri, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Aslam, from his father, from his grandfather, with Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm replacing Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq in the chain. All three reported it.
I do not know if this Aslam ibn Bujrah and the one before him, Aslam ibn Aws ibn Bujrah, are one and the same or two different individuals. It is possible they are one and the same, as they often attribute lineage to their ancestors. I mention this so that one does not assume it to be a different person. Allah knows best.
