Al-Harith ibn Hakim

S: Al-Harith b. Hakim ad-Dabbi

Al-Harith b. Hakim ad-Dabbi reported that he came to the Messenger of Allah and said: What is your name?

He said: Abd al-Harith.

The Messenger of Allah said: You are Abd Allah. He was given the name Abd Allah, and the Messenger of Allah entrusted him with the charity of his people.

It was reported by Abu Musa, who said: We were informed by Abu Bakr b. al-Harith, who said: We were informed by Abu Ahmad, who said: We were informed by Abu Umar b. al-Hasan b. Ali al-Shaybani, who said: Al-Mundhir b. Muhammad al-Qabusi informed me, who said: Al-Husayn b. Muhammad informed us, from Sayf b. Umar, from al-Sa'ib b. Hila al-Dabbi, from his father, from Al-Harith b. Hakim al-Dabbi.

It was also reported by Hisham al-Kalbi, who said: Abd al-Harith b. Zayd b. Safwan b. Sabah b. Tarif b. Zayd b. Amir b. Rabi'ah b. Ka'b b. Rabi'ah b. Tha'labah b. Sa'd b. Dhubba came to the Prophet and was named Abd Allah.
