Bayrih ibn Asad

Bi'rath ibn Asad al-Tahahi met the Prophet ﷺ but did not see him. He arrived in Medina after the Prophet's ﷺ death by a few days, as said by Ibn Mandah, and Abu Nu'aym.

He also said: The Prophet ﷺ had seen him, meaning before his arrival.

Al-Zubayr ibn al-Kharrat related from Abu Libadah, who said: A man from Oman, named Bi'rath ibn Asad, migrated to the Prophet ﷺ. He arrived in Medina, but found that the Prophet ﷺ had passed away. While he was on one of the city's paths, he met Umar ibn al-Khattab ﵁, who said to him: You do not seem to be from this land? He replied: I am a man from Oman. Abu Bakr ﵁ brought him, and said: This is from the land mentioned by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

We were informed by Abu Yasser ibn Abu Habba, through his chain of narrators, from Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal, from his father, who informed us that Jarir related from Al-Zubayr ibn al-Kharrat, similar to this, with some variation in wording.

It was narrated by the three (Ibn Manda, Abū Nuʿaym, Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr).
