Ja'al

S: Ja'la, or Ja'il b. Saraga.

The Ghafari, or the Dhamri, or the Tha'alibi, or it is said that he was from the tribe of 'Adi' b. Ka'b of the Banu Salama, and he was the brother of 'Auf, from the people of al-Saffa and the poor of the Muslims.

He was one of the early Muslims, and he witnessed the Battle of Badr with the Prophet, and he was injured in the eye on the Day of Khaybar. He was blind and had a repulsive face, but the Prophet praised him and entrusted him with his faith.

It was narrated that 'Ubaid Allah b. Ahmad b. 'Ali informed us, with his chain of narration to Yunus b. Bukair, from Muhammad b. Ishaq, who said that Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. al-Harith al-Taymi informed me that a man said to the Messenger of Allah: 'You have given one hundred camels to al-Aqra' b. Habis and Uyayna b. Hsin, and you have left Ja'la behind.' The Prophet said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul,'
