Biography of Salamah ibn Qaysar
Salama b. Qaysir al-Hadrami, and it was said: Salama.
He was counted among the Egyptians, and he had a house in Jerusalem. Abu al-Khayr Marthad b. Abdullah al-Yazni and Abu al-Sha'tha' Amr b. Rabi'a al-Hadrami narrated from him.
Ibn Lah'iyya narrated from Zabban b. Fayd, from Lah'iyya b. Uqba, from Amr b. Rabi'a, from Salama b. Qaysir, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever fasts a day seeking the Face of Allah, Allah will distance him from Hellfire as far as a crow flies when it is still in its egg until it dies and becomes dry.'
It was narrated by the three (Ibn Manda, Abū Nuʿaym, Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr), and Abu 'Umar said: There is no report of him hearing from the Prophet ﷺ except through this chain, and Abu Zur'ah denied his companionship, saying: His narration is from Abu Hurayra.
