Sawa' ibn Qays

S: Suwayb ibn Qays al-Muharibi

Abu Musa b. Abi Bakr al-Madini informed us with permission, from the book of Abu Bakr b. al-Harith, a written report. Abu Ahmad al-Attabari informed us, Abu Hafs b. Shahin informed us, Nasr b. Qasim al-Farazi informed us, Abu Bakr b. Abi Shayba informed us, Abu al-Husayn al-Ukli informed us, meaning Zayd b. al-Hubab, that Muhammad b. Zurrara b. Khuzayma b. Thabit informed me, that Umarah b. Khuzayma b. Thabit informed me, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ purchased a horse from Suwayb b. Qays al-Muharibi, but he denied it, so Khuzayma testified on his behalf, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'What made you testify, and you were not present with us?' He said: 'I believed you in what you brought, and I knew that you do not speak except the truth, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever Khuzayma testifies for, or testifies against, is sufficient for him.' Some of them said: Suwayb b. al-Harith, and his mention has preceded, and Ibn Shahin distinguished between them, making them two separate biographies, although they are one.
