Biography of Nafi' Abu Bakrah
Nafi` Abu Bakra; according to another report, Masrouh, and it has been mentioned before, and it is in the saying: Nufi` bin Masrouh; in another account, Nufi` bin al-Harith bin Kalada. He is one of the slaves of al-Harith bin Kalada, according to those who attribute him to Masrouh. His mother Sumayyah, a slave girl who belonged to al-Harith bin Kalda al-Thaqafi. He is Ziyad's maternal brother. Al-Sha'bi said: They wanted Abu Bakra to be on the call. He refused, meaning that he should be attributed to Al-Harith. He said to his sons upon his death: My father is Masrouh Al-Hadith. Ahmed bin Hanbal said: Abu Bakr Nufai' bin Al-Harith, and most say like this. Ahmed bin Hanbal said: Hawdhah bin Khalifa dictated his lineage to me, so when he reached Abu Bakra, I said: Whose son? He said: Do not increase him and leave him. He was one of those who came down to the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Taif. He converted to Islam.
