Biography of Abu ibn Malik
Abī ibn Mālik al-Ḥarashī, and it is said: al-ʿĀmirī, as stated by Abū ʿ Umar.
Ibn al-Mundah said: And Abū Naʿīm al-Qushayrī al-ʿĀmirī; they all agreed that he was from ʿĀmir ibn Ṣaṣʿaʿah, but differed on other details. Ḥarīsh and Qushayr are two brothers, sons of Kaʿb ibn Rabīʿah ibn ʿĀmir ibn Ṣaṣʿaʿah ibn Muʿāwiyah ibn Bakr ibn Huwayzin ibn Manṣūr ibn ʿIkrimah ibn Khuṣafah ibn Qays ʿAylān ibn Muḍar. He was a Baṣran.
One of his narrations is:
Abū al-Faḍl ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Qāhir narrated to us with his chain of narration, from Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī, who said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Qaṭādah, from Zurārah ibn Abī Awfā, from Ubayy ibn Mālik, that the Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever reaches his parents or one of them, then enters Hell, may God distance him.
Similar to this was narrated by Ghundār, ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd, and ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAlī, from Shuʿbah, and it was also narrated by Abū Dāwūd.
