Biography of Bahinah
S: Buhaynah said Abu Musa, citing Ibn Mandah: He was mentioned by Abdan.
He was narrated with his chain, from Abdan ibn Muhammad, from Abbas ibn Muhammad, from Abu Naim, from Abd al-Salam ibn Harb, from Abu Khalid Yazid ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thuban, from Buhaynah, said: The Prophet ﷺ passed by me and I was standing in prayer after the dawn, so he said: Do not pray this prayer like the one before Dhuhr and after it, and make a prayer between them.
said: This was narrated and translated by him, and the authentic one is what we were informed and mentioned its chain to Sari ibn Yahya, from Abu Naim, from Abd al-Salam ibn Harb, from Yazid ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thuban, from Ibn Buhaynah.
said: And similarly narrated Yahya ibn Abu Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thuban, and he was called Ibn Buhaynah: Abd al-Wahhab ibn Hiba Allah informed us with his chain to Abd Allah ibn Ahmad, from his father, from Abd al-Razzaq, from Yahya ibn Abu Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thuban, from Abd Allah ibn Malik ibn Buhaynah, similarly.
said: And Buhaynah is the name of his mother, and he may have been attributed to her, and to his father, and here he was attributed to both.
I said: And the authentic one is what Abu Musa said, and it is clear and well-known, and there is no doubt that it fell from the original Abdan: Ibn Fathnah Buhaynah, and he did not confirm this until he thought the woman was a man, and the stick became a staff.
Authored by Abu Musa.
