Biography of Busr ibn Jihash

Ahmad: Busr ibn Juhaysh al-Qurashi was counted among the Shamis.

We were informed by Yahya ibn Mahmud ibn Sa'd al-Thaqafi, with his permission, from Ibn Abi 'Asim, who said: Our companion Dhuhaym informed us, Our companion al-Walid ibn Muslim informed us, Hariz ibn 'Uthman informed me, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Maisarah, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Busr ibn Juhaysh, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once wore a ring on his finger, and then placed his finger on it, then he said: Indeed Allah says: 'O son of Adam, you will not be able to overcome Me, for I created you from this very dust, and then I formed you and perfected you, until you walked between two garments, and the earth had a share from you, and you gathered and withheld until the time of reckoning came, then you said: Do I give in charity and what is the time for charity?'

This was transmitted by Abu Nu'aym here, and also by Abu Nu'aym, and Abu 'Umar in the biography of Busr with the letter ba and the letter shin with a dot above, and the discussion is returned to him there, if Allah wills.

He has no known descendants.

Walid: The sound of a strong walk, Hariz: With the open alif, the kashra of the raa, and then a yaa with two dots underneath, and the last letter is za, Nufayr: With the nun and faa.
