Biography of Khuraym ibn Fatik

Khirim ibn Fatik ibn al-Akhrim, and it is said: Khirim ibn al-Akhrim ibn Shaddad ibn Amr ibn Fatik ibn Qalib ibn Amr ibn Asad ibn Khuzaymah al-Asadi, and his father was al-Akhrim, it is said: Fatik, and it is said: that Fatik was the son of al-Akhrim, Khirim ibn Fatik was known as: Abu Yahya, and it is said: Abu Ayman, his son Ayman ibn Khirim.

He witnessed the Battle of Badr with his brother Sibra ibn Fatik, and it is said: that Khirim and his son Ayman both accepted Islam on the day of the Conquest of Mecca, and the first is more correct, and al-Bukhari and others have authenticated: that Khirim and his brother Sibra ibn Fatik witnessed the Battle of Badr, and this is the correct account, and he is counted among the Shamis, and it is said: among the Kufans.

He settled in ar-Raqah, and he was narrated from by al-Ma'rur ibn Suwayd, and Shamar ibn 'Atiyyah, and ar-Rabi' ibn 'Umaylah, and Habib ibn al-Nu'man al-Asadi.

Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated, from al-Sha'bi: that Marwan ibn al-Hakam said to Ayman ibn Khirim, I want to fight alongside him on the day of Marj Rahit, and he said: my father and my uncle both witnessed the Battle of Badr, and I have been forbidden from fighting a Muslim.
