Dhu Dajan

D: Dhū Dajān narrated from Wahshī b. Isḥāq b. Wahshī b. Ḥarb b. Wahshī, from his father, from his grandfather Wahshī b. Ḥarb, who said: Seventy-two men from the Habash came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, among them was Dhū Dajān, so he said to them: 'Affiliate yourselves.'

Then Dhū Mahdham recited verses in praise of his name, if Allah wills.

And all of them accompanied the Prophet ﷺ, and their number among the Habash.

It was narrated by Ibn Mandah in this manner.

And it was narrated by Abū Naʿīm Dhū Jadn.

With the jīm in the nominative form.

He had already preceded.

And both are one, and Allah knows best.
