Biography of Ruh ibn Zunba'
Ruwaim b. Zunbair b. Ruwaim b. Salama ibn Hadad b. Hadidah b. Umayyah b. Amr al-Qays b. Hamanah b. Wa'il b. Malik b. Zayd b. Munahah b. Afsha b. Sa'd b. Dhubalah b. Iyas b. Harim b. Jadhimah, Abu Zur'ah al-Judhami.
It is said that Ibn Mandah and Abu Na'im said: His companionship is not valid, and his father Zunbair's meeting with the Prophet is.
Abu 'Umar said: Ahmad b. Zuhayr said: And from the people of Judham who narrated from the Prophet ﷺ is Ruwaim b. Zunbair, and his mawla is Ruwaim, who is called: Habib.
However, Ahmad b. Zuhayr did not mention any hadith narrated by Ruwaim, and it is only said that his father Zunbair met the Prophet ﷺ, while Ruwaim's companionship is not valid.
Muslim b. al-Hajjaj said in al-Asma' wa al-Kunyat: Abu Zur'ah Ruwaim b. Zunbair al-Judhami, he has companionship, and Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned him, and his father is among the Tabi'un, and they said: He narrated from 'Ubadah b. al-Samit.
He was narrated from: Sharhabil b. Muslim, Yahya b. Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani, and 'Ubadah b. Nusayr.
Abu 'Umar said: And I do not see his companionship, nor his narration: except from the Companions, among them: Tamim al-Dari, and 'Ubadah b. al-Samit, who narrated a hadith about the virtue of tying horses for the sake of Allah, which we mentioned in the biography of Tamim.
He was particularly close to 'Abd al-Malik b. Marwan, who said: Ruwaim gathered the obedience of the people of Sham, the cunning of the people of Iraq, and the knowledge of the people of Hijaz.
It is said that Ruwaim had a farm next to the farm of al-Walid b. 'Abd al-Malik, and he complained to the agents of Ruwaim from the agents of al-Walid, and he complained to al-Walid, but he did not complain to him.
So, Ruwaim mentioned that to 'Abd al-Malik b. Marwan, and al-Walid was present, so 'Abd al-Malik said: What does Ruwaim say, O Walid? He said: He lied, O Commander of the Faithful, so Ruwaim said: I am the one who lied, by Allah, so al-Walid said: I will quickly take your horses, Ruwaim.
