Definition of To count / To prepare
Al-'adad: combined units.
One says: the combination of units, it is the same thing.
The Almighty says: 'A determined number of days' (Al-Baqara 184). 'We have counted them' (Maryam 94).
And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count.
He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.
