Definition of To dive / Exploration

Al-Ghaws refers to entering under water and extracting something from it.

Anyone who delves into obscure matters to extract something is said to do ghaws.

The Almighty says: 'And among the devils were those who dived for him' (Al-Anbiya 82).

The ghawwāsūn (divers) are those who dive to extract pearls.
