Definition of To erase / To blind
At-tams: erasing the trace by obliteration.
The Almighty says: 'When the stars are obliterated' (Al-Mursalat 8). 'Obliterate their wealth' (Yunus 88) Moses's supplication against Pharaoh.
O you who were given the Scripture, believe in what We have sent down [to Muhammad], confirming that which is with you, before We obliterate faces and turn them toward their backs or curse them as We cursed the sabbath-breakers. And ever is the decree of Allah accomplished.
And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment."
