Definition of To light / To ignite

As-sajr: stoking the fire.

One says: I heated the oven.

The Almighty says: 'And when the seas are set on fire' (At-Takwir 6), meaning filled with fire and ignited.

The heated oven is a metaphor for the intensity of punishment.
