Definition of Mark / Sign

Al-Wasm refers to the mark and sign.

The Almighty says: 'You will know them by their signs' (Al-Baqarah 273).

Wasama means to mark.

Al-mawsūm is the marked.

As-sīmā is the distinctive sign.
