Definition of Offspring / Progeny

An-Nasl refers to offspring and progeny.

The Almighty says: 'And from his descendants, David and Solomon' (Al-An'am 84).

Nasala means to beget.

The Almighty says: 'And they descend from every elevation' (Al-Anbiya 96).

Surah Al-Baqara : 205 Medinan

﴿وَإِذَا تَوَلَّىٰ سَعَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيُفْسِدَ فِيهَا وَيُهْلِكَ ٱلْحَرْثَ وَٱلنَّسْلَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْفَسَادَ﴾

And when he goes away, he strives throughout the land to cause corruption therein and destroy crops and animals. And Allah does not like corruption.

Surah Al-Anbiya : 96 Meccan

﴿حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنسِلُونَ﴾

Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend

Surah As-Sajda : 8 Meccan

﴿ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُۥ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍ مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ﴾

Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.

Surah Ya-Sin : 51 Meccan

﴿وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ﴾

And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten.
