Definition of Rancor / Hatred

Ad-dighn and ad-daghn: intense rancor, plural adghan.

The Almighty says: 'Allah will bring out their rancors' (Muhammad 29).

The rancor hidden in hypocrites' hearts will be revealed.

Surah Muhammad : 29 Medinan

﴿أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَن لَّن يُخْرِجَ ٱللَّهُ أَضْغَٰنَهُمْ﴾

Or do those in whose hearts is disease think that Allah would never expose their [feelings of] hatred?

Surah Muhammad : 37 Medinan

﴿إِن يَسْـَٔلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا۟ وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَٰنَكُمْ﴾

If He should ask you for them and press you, you would withhold, and He would expose your unwillingness.
