Definition of Wide path

Al-Fajj refers to a gap between two mountains, and it is used for a wide road.

Its plural is fijāj.

The Almighty says: 'Through spacious paths' (Al-Anbiya 31), and: 'They will come from every distant pass' (Al-Hajj 27).

Al-fajj also means distance.

And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.

﴿وَأَذِّن فِى ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ
And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass -

That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "
