Biography of Humam
US: Hammam's last name is Maim and he is Aslami. His hadith was narrated by Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak, from Ma'mar, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Yazid ibn Naim, that a man from Aslam was called: Ubayd ibn Awaimir, said: He had a female slave, and she gave birth to a boy named Hammam, during the pre-Islamic era. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ, and spoke to him about his son, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Take your son, if you can.'
So he set out and took his son, and came to the Prophet ﷺ, and the boy's slave came to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ offered him two boys, and he said: 'Take one of them, and leave the man's son.'
He took a boy named Rafa', and left his son with him, then the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Any man who recognizes his son, and takes him, will be freed from his ransom.'
