Biography of Dh'u'ayb ibn Hulhulah
Dhū 'Iyb ibn Ḥalḥalā, and it was said: Dhū 'Iyb ibn Qabīṣah, Abū Qabīṣah ibn Dhū 'Iyb al-Khuzā'ī, and it was said: Dhū 'Iyb ibn Ḥabīb ibn Ḥalḥalā ibn 'Amr ibn Kalyab ibn Aṣram ibn 'Abd Allāh ibn Qumayr ibn Ḥabshīyah ibn Salūl ibn Ka'b ibn 'Amr ibn Rabi'ah, and he is Lḥayy ibn Ḥārithah ibn 'Amr al-Khuzā'ī al-Ka'bi, as Abu 'Umar has narrated.
And Ibn al-Kalbī said: He is Dhū 'Iyb ibn Ḥalḥalā, and he mentioned like Abu 'Umar.
He was the companion of the body of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he would send him the guidance, and he would order him to correct it if anything was wrong before its time, and he would keep a distance between him and the people.
We were informed by Abu al-Faraj ibn Mahmud ibn Sa'd al-Asfahani and Abu Yasir ibn Abu Habba, with their chain of narration to Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj, he said: My informant Abu Ghassan al-Misma'i, narrated to me, that 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, that Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Sinan ibn Salamah, from Ibn 'Abbas, that Dhū 'Iyb, Abū Qabīṣah, narrated to him: That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was
