Abdullah bin Othman bin Aamer bin Amr bin Ka'b bin Saad bin Taym bin Murrah bin Ka'b bin Luay Al-Qurashi Al-Taymi, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq bin Abi Quhafa, and the names of Abu Quhafa: Othman and his mother Umm al-Khair is Salma bint Sakhr bin Aamer bin Ka'b bin Saad bin Taym bin Murra. She is the cousin of Abu Quhafa, and her name was said: Laila bint Sakhr bin Aamer, said by Muhammad bin Saad, and others said: Her name is Salma bint Sakhr bin Aamir bin Amr bin Ka'b. Ibn Saad Ibn Taim, and this is nothing, as she is his brother's daughter, and the Arabs did not marry brothers' daughters. The first is more correct. He was the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the cave and in the Hijra, and the caliph after him. It was narrated on the authority of: the Prophet ﷺ. Narrated from him: Omar, Othman, Ali, Abdul Rahman bin Awf, Ibn Masoud, Ibn Omar, Ibn Abbas, Hudhayfah, Zaid bin Thabit, and others.

His name differed, so Another report states: He was the servant of the Kaaba, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, called him Abdullah. Some reports state: His family named him Abdullah. He was also called: Ateeq. They differed as to the reason for which he was called Ateeq. Some of them said: He was told: Ateeq because of his beautiful face and beauty. This was said by Al-Layth bin Saad and a group with him, and Al-Zubair bin Bakkar and a group with him said, but he was only called: Ateeq. Because there was nothing in his lineage that could be discredited; according to another report, He was only called Atiq, because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said to him: "You are freed by Allah from Hell."
