d ': Aḥmar ibn Sawā' ibn 'Adī ibn Marrah ibn Ḥamrān ibn 'Awf ibn 'Amr ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Sudūs al-Sudūsī; he was counted among the people of al-Kūfah. Iyād ibn Luqayṭ was the only one to narrate from him.
Ibn Mandah reported it, with a chain of narration to al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn 'Alī al-Azdī.
My father reported, who said: 'Alā' ibn al-Minhāl reported, on the authority of Iyād ibn Luqayṭ, on the authority of Aḥmar ibn Sawā' al-Sudūsī, that he had an idol which he used to worship; he went to it, threw it into a well, then came to the Prophet ﷺ and gave him his pledge of allegiance.
