Biography of Anas ibn Abd Allah
S: Anas b. Abd Allah b. Abi Dhabyab said Abu Musa: He was mentioned by Abu Zakariya, meaning Ibn Mandah in what he collected on his grandfather Abu Abd Allah, deviating from the mention of Ali b. Sa'id al-Asakari to him, he brought it in al-Afrad, and perhaps he intended Iyas b. Abd Allah b. Abi Dhabyab, who is well-known and mentioned as a transmitter, and if he had mentioned something for him, it would have been known that it was he, or another.
I said: And Ibn Abi Asim mentioned Anas b. Abd Allah b. Abi Dhabyab after Iyas b. Abd Allah b. Abi Dhabyab, so it became clear that they thought of them as two, and Allah knows best.
Anas b. Abd Allah b. Abi Dhabyab said: The Messenger of Allah said, 'Do not strike the maidservants of Allah.' So Umar came forward and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, women have become fierce towards their husbands.' He said, 'Strike them.' He said, 'So in the morning, there were seventy women at the door of the Messenger of Allah, complaining about their husbands.' The Messenger of Allah said, 'Indeed, seventy people from the family of Muhammad have gone around, do not think that those who strike are the best of you.'
This hadith is the one mentioned in Iyas b. Abd Allah b. Abi Dhabyab, so I do not know why Ibn Abi Asim distinguished between them, and he narrated the hadith in both translations? And Allah knows best.
