Biography of Bushayr ibn Abi Zayd

Bd: Bishr ibn Abi Zayd, whose name was Thabit ibn Zayd, and Abu Zayd was one of the six who collected the Quran during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

He was killed on the Day of al-Harra, as stated by Ibn Mandah, from Muhammad ibn Sa'd, and his statement: He was killed on the Day of al-Harra, but the correct transcription is that he was killed on the Day of al-Jisr, on the Day when Abu Ubayd al-Thaqafi was killed in Iraq during the caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab ﵁, on the Day of Qas al-Nataf, and the transcription of al-Jisr as al-Harra occurs when the letter sin is omitted, and it was written in verse, and Allah knows best.

Abu 'Umar and al-Kalbi also mentioned him, but they named him Abu Zayd: Qais ibn al-Sakan who collected the Quran, and the people differed in the name of Abu Zayd, and it is mentioned in Abu Zayd, and Abu 'Umar brought out Bishr ibn Abi Zayd al-Ansari, and he said: Al-Kalbi said: His father Abu Zayd was martyred on the Day of Uhud, and Bishr ibn Abi Zayd witnessed, and his brother Waddah ibn Abi Zayd witnessed the Battle of Siffin with Ali ibn Abi Talib ﵁, so I do not know if this is the one mentioned here or not? It was brought out by Ibn Mandah, and Abu 'Umar.
