Biography of Iyas ibn Malik
Dhahabi: Iyas ibn Malik ibn Aus ibn Abdullah ibn Hajar al-Aslami said Ibn Mandah: He was narrated by Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Saraji in al-Sahaba, and he is a Tabi'i, and his grandfather Aus was a Companion.
He narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he is al-Saraji, from Muhammad ibn Ubada ibn Musa al-Akli, from his brother Musa ibn Ubada, from Abdullah ibn Yasar, from Iyas ibn Malik ibn Aus al-Aslami, said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ migrated and Abu Bakr passed by us with camels to al-Juhfa, and he mentioned the hadith.
He was narrated by Sakhr ibn Malik ibn Iyas ibn Malik ibn Aus ibn Abdullah ibn Hajar, from his father Malik, from his father Iyas, from his father Malik, from his father Aus ibn Hajar, the Prophet ﷺ passed by him and mentioned the hadith, and it has been mentioned before in Aus ibn Abdullah ibn Hajar.
Abu Nai'm said in this: Iyas was mentioned by some of the weak narrators in al-Sahaba, and he is a Tabi'i, and his grandfather Aus was a Companion, and he narrated the hadith of al-Saraji in his history from Muhammad al-Akli, from his brother Musa, from Abdullah ibn Yasar, from Iyas ibn Malik ibn Aus, from his father, said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ migrated the hadith.
Abu Nai'm said: The weak narrator made a mistake in attributing it to al-Saraji, and al-Saraji is innocent, because he narrated it as we mentioned, from Iyas ibn Malik, from his father Malik majud.
Abu Nai'm mentioned the hadith of Sakhr ibn Malik mentioned earlier as evidence that the companionship is for Aus.
I said: Ibn Mandah also mentioned the hadith, and he said: He is a Tabi'i, so there is no objection left, except that he attributed it to al-Saraji, and in the history of al-Saraji there is a contradiction, and if not, he would have informed that he is a Tabi'i.
He was narrated by Ibn Mandah, and Abu Nai'm.
