Jabalah ibn Harithah

Jabala ibn al-Harith, brother of Zayd ibn al-Harith ibn Sharahil al-Kalbi, mentions his lineage through Usama ibn Zayd, and comes in Zayd, if Allah wills. He presented himself to the Prophet ﷺ with his father al-Harith, and the Prophet was in Mecca, and he was older than Zayd. So al-Harith stayed with his son Zayd, and Jabala returned, then he came back to the Prophet ﷺ and accepted Islam.

We were informed by Umar ibn Muhammad ibn al-Mu'ammir ibn Tabrazada, and others, said: We were informed by Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Husayn, We were informed by Abu Talib Muhammad ibn Muhammad, We were informed by Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Muzakki, We were informed by Ahmad ibn Hamdun ibn Rustum, We were informed by al-Walid ibn Amr ibn al-Sakin, We were informed by Amr ibn al-Nadr, We were informed by Ismail ibn Abu Khalid, from Abu Amr al-Shaybani, from Ibn al-Harith, said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Send my brother with me, so he said: Here he is before you, if he goes, he is not more trustworthy, so Zayd said: I do not choose anyone over you, Messenger of Allah, so he said: I found my brother's statement better than mine. Al-Darqutni said: Ibn al-Harith is Jabala ibn al-Harith, and he narrated from Abu Ishaq al-Sabai'i, and some of them insert between Abu Ishaq and Jabala Furat ibn Nufail.

Abu Ishaq said: It was said to Jabala ibn al-Harith: Are you older or Zayd? He said: Zayd is better than me, and I was born before him, and I will tell you that our security was from Tayy', so she died, and we remained in the care of our grandfather, our security's father, and my uncles came and said to our grandfather: We are more entitled to our brother's son, so he said: Take Jabala, and he called Zayd, and they took me and left, and a group of horses from Tihamah came and hit Zayd, so they carried him until he fell to Khadija's hands, and she gave him to the Prophet ﷺ.

And some of them narrated, so he said: Jabala is a descendant of Usama ibn Zayd.

And he narrated from Jabala ibn Thabit, brother of Zayd, and the correct one: Jabala ibn al-Harith is the brother of Zayd, and anything other than this is not correct.
