Biography of Jabir Abu Abd ar-Rahman
Jabir Abu Abd al-Rahman, who is Jabir ibn Ubayd al-Abdi.
He was narrated from by his son Abd al-Rahman, and it was said: the name of his son is Abd Allah.
Muhammad ibn Sa'd said: He was in the delegation of Abd al-Qays, he resided in Basra, and it was said: he resided in Bahrain.
Jabir ibn al-Madini narrated from al-Harith ibn Murrah al-Hanafi, from Nafis, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir al-Abdi, who said: I was in the delegation who came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Abd al-Qays, and I am not from them, I was only with my father, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade them from drinking from containers: dabaq, hanut, naqir, and mazafat.
This was narrated by Ibn Mandah from the chain of Ali ibn al-Madini, and it was narrated by Abd Allah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal, from his father, from al-Harith ibn Murrah, from Nafis, who said: Abd Allah ibn Jabir, the same.
We were informed by Abu Yasar Abd al-Wahhab ibn Hiba Allah, with his chain, from Abd Allah ibn Ahmad.
