Biography of Jabir ibn Abi Sabirah
Jabir ibn Abi Sufra al-Asadi narrated that Tarik ibn Abd al-Aziz narrated from Ibn Ujlan, from Abu Ja'far Musa ibn al-Musayyib, from Salim ibn Abu al-Ja'd, from Jabir ibn Abi Sufra, from the Prophet ﷺ that he mentioned jihad, and said: The devil sat with the son of Adam at his throat, so he sat with him in the matter of Islam, and said: Peace be upon you, and abandon your religion and the religion of your fathers! He disobeyed him, so he became Muslim. Then he came to him from the matter of migration, and said: Migrate, and abandon your land and your sky and your birthplace, and lose your wealth! He disobeyed him, so he migrated. Then he came to him from the matter of jihad, and said: Fight, and spill your blood, and marry your wife, and divide your wealth, and lose your children! He disobeyed him, so he fought. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It is incumbent upon Allah to reward him for that, so he abandoned his mount and died, for his reward has fallen upon Allah. And if a creature devoured him, he died, his reward has fallen upon Allah. And if he was killed, it is incumbent upon Allah to enter him into Paradise.
This hadith is unique in that Tarik mentioned Jabir, and it was narrated by Ibn Faddil and others from Abu Ja'far, from
