Jabir ibn Tariq

Jabir ibn Tariq ibn Awf, it is also said: Jabir ibn Awf ibn Tariq al-Ahmasi, Abu Hakim.

He was from the Banu Ahmas ibn al-Ghuth ibn Anmar, a clan from Bajila.

He settled in Kufa, and he was a companion.

Ibn Sa'd said: Among those who settled in Kufa was Jabir ibn Tariq, Abu Hakim.

We were informed by Abd al-Wahhab ibn Abu Habba, in his chain of transmission to Abdullah ibn Ahmad, he said: My father told me, that Sufyan ibn Uyyah informed us, from Ismail ibn Abu Khalid, from Hakim ibn Jabir, from his father, he said: I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ in his house, and there was this dubbah with him, I said: What is this? They said: It is the qar'ah, we use it to cook our food.

This was also narrated by Hafiz ibn Ghiyath, Muhammad ibn Bishr, Ali ibn Mushir, Sharik, Abu Usamah, and others, from Ismail, from Hakim, similarly.
