Biography of Sabitat ibn Abi Humayda

Aban ibn Sa'id ibn 'Amr ibn Wahb ibn Hudhafa ibn Jamih al-Qurashi al-Jumahi met with Safwan ibn Umayya ibn Khalaf ibn Wahb in Wahb. He was narrated from by his son 'Abd al-Rahman, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever is afflicted with a calamity should remember it in relation to me, for it is the greatest of calamities.'

Ya'qub ibn Ma'in, said: He was 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Aban, and Aban was his grandfather.

There is a dispute about him.

[2 - Saba' Khadim al-Nabi]

Saba' Khadim al-Nabi ﷺ narrated one hadith, and his transmitter was from the people of Kufa. There was a dispute about him among the scholars.

Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated from Shu'ba, from Abu 'Uqail, from Abu Salama, who said: We were in the mosque of Hims, and a man passed by, so they said: This is the servant of the Prophet ﷺ. So I approached him and said: Narrate to us what you heard from the Prophet ﷺ. He said: I heard him say: 'Whoever says at sunset and at dawn: I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, and with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad as my Prophet, it is truly incumbent upon Allah to be satisfied with him on the Day of Resurrection.'

There was also a dispute about him among the scholars, and Masruq narrated from Shu'ba, from Abu 'Uqail, from Abu Salama, from Saba' Khadim al-Nabi ﷺ about supplication.

They said: This is a mistake, and the correct narration is from the companions of Masruq, from Abu 'Uqail, Salim ibn Bilal, the qadi of Wasit, from Saba' ibn Najiyah, from Abu Salama,
