Biography of Salim al-Adawi
B: Salim al-'Adawi narrated by Abu 'Umar, who said: The transmitter of his hadith is his son, and he visited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he was young, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rebuked him, and prayed for him, and Salim performed the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Abu 'Umar said: Nor do I think he is from 'Adi of Quraysh.
I said: This is Salim al-'Adawi, he is Salim ibn Harmala who was mentioned earlier, and he is from 'Adi ibn 'Abd al-Muna'ah ibn Ad, and he is 'Adi al-Rabab, and Abu 'Ali ibn al-Sakan mentioned him, and said: Salim ibn Harmala ibn Zuhayr ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Khunbush ibn 'Adi ibn Malik ibn Tamim ibn ad-Du'ali ibn Hasal ibn 'Adi ibn 'Abd al-Muna'ah ibn Ad ibn Tabikhah, as he said.
Khunbush: with kh, n, b, and sh, and Ibn Makula and 'Abd al-Ghani, and ad-Darqutni said: it is written with ha, sh, and r, and Allah knows best.
