Biography of Tamim ibn al-Harith
Tamim ibn al-Harith ibn Qais ibn 'Adi ibn Sa'd ibn Suhm al-Qurashi al-Suhmi was one of the Emigrants from Abyssinia, and he was killed at Ajnadin in the land of Syria. He was the brother of Sa'id, Abu Qais, 'Abd Allah, and al-Sa'ib, the sons of al-Harith. These brothers became Muslims. Tamim had a sixth brother who was captured on the Day of Badr. Their father, al-Harith, was one of those who mocked the Prophet. He is also known as the son of al-Ghittala, which is the name of his mother, and she was from the tribe of Kinana.
Abu 'Umar said: Ibn Ishaq did not mention Tamim in the Emigration to Abyssinia, and instead mentioned his brother, Bishr ibn al-Harith.
He was narrated by the three.
