Biography of Thabit ibn Abi 'Asim
Usd al-Ghaba: Thabit b. Abi Asim said, Abu Naim said: He was mentioned by Ibn Abi Asim in the Sahaba, and he is most similar to the Tabi'un.
We were informed by Abu Musa, in a written letter, that Abu Ali informed us, that Abu Naim informed us, that Abdullah b. Muhammad, he is al-Qabbab, informed us, that Abu Bakr b. Abi Asim informed us, that Muhammad b. Mansur al-Tusi informed us, that Muhammad b. Subaih informed us, that Bakiyya informed us, that Aqil b. Mudrik informed us, from Tha'labah b. Muslim, from Thabit b. Abi Asim, that the Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed, the least of the hardships of the mujahideen in the path of Allah is fasting for a year and standing for it, a man said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the least of the hardships of the mujahideen? He said: The whip falls from his hand while he is drowsy and he goes down to pick it up.
