Biography of Umayyah ibn Khalid al-Umawi
Amiya b. Khalid b. Abd Allah b. Asid al-Amawi in his companionship was looked at, counted among the followers, mentioned by Ibn Abi Shayba, al-Qawariri, and Ibn Mi'nah in the companions.
Qays b. al-Rabi' related from al-Muhallab b. Abi Shafra, from Amiya: that the Prophet ﷺ used to conquer with bandits of the emigrants.
And Yunus b. Abi Ishaq related from his father, from Amiya, but did not mention al-Muhallab.
Thus, Ibn Mandah mentioned his lineage.
As for Abu Umar, he said: Amiya b. Khalid, relates from the Prophet ﷺ that he used to conquer with bandits of the emigrants, he said: and my companionship is not authentic.
He said: and it is said that he is Amiya b. Abd Allah b. Khalid b. Asid b. Abi al-A'is b. Amiya b. Abd Shams al-Amawi, said al-Thauri, and Qays b. al-Rabi'.
As for Abu Naim, he mentioned him on the correct path, he said: Amiya b. Abd Allah b. Khalid b. Asid b. Abi al-A'is, differed in his companionship.
And he mentioned the hadith from Amiya b. Abd Allah, and related it from another route, from Amiya b. Khalid b. Abd Allah.
I said: and the correct one is that he is Amiya b. Abd Allah b. Khalid b. Asid b. Abi al-A'is, and Abd al-Malik appointed him over Khorasan, and the correct one is that he has no companionship, and the hadith is marfu.
And the author of the history and biography mentioned Amiya and his governorship of Khorasan, and they mentioned his lineage as we mentioned.
And Abu Ahmad al-Askari mentioned Abd al-Malik b. Asid b. Abi al-A'as, then he said: and his brother Khalid b. Asid, and his son Amiya b. Khalid, then he said in a separate biography: Amiya b. Khalid b. Asid, some of them mentioned that he has a narration, and he related from Ibn Umar.
And it was related to him: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to conquer with bandits of the emigrants.
And al-Zubair b. Abi Bakr mentioned him, and said after mentioning his lineage: and Abd al-Malik appointed Amiya b. Abd Allah b. Khalid b. Asid over Khorasan.
