Biography of Umayyah ibn Lu'dhan
B: Umayya, the uncle of Amr ibn Uthman, was from Medina.
Hadith: That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed in water and mud on his riding animal on two days, and his prostration was lower than his bowing.
He was narrated by Abu 'Umar.
I said: This was narrated by Abu 'Umar, and:
We were narrated to by Ismail ibn Ubaidullah, and others, through their chain to Tirmidhi, that Yahya ibn Musa narrated to us, that Shababah ibn Sawwar narrated to us, that 'Umar ibn al-Rammah narrated to us, that Kathir ibn Ziyad narrated to us, that 'Amr ibn Uthman ibn Ya'la ibn Murrah narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather:
That they were with the Prophet ﷺ and they came to a narrow place, and the prayer became due, and they were rained upon, the sky from above them, and the valley from below them, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called out the adhan while he was on his riding animal, and he proceeded while he was on his riding animal, and he prayed with them, making his prostration lower than his bowing, so Abu 'Isa named him as we mentioned, and on his saying, the hadith is for 'Amr to be known, not for Umayya.
