S: Usayd with a fatha on the hamza and kasra on the sin, is Usayd ibn Abi Usayd, the first with an open hamza, and the second with a closed hamza and fatha on the sin, and he is Abu Usayd Malik ibn Rabia ibn al-Baddan, and it was said: al-Badi, and the first is more popular ibn Amir ibn Awf ibn Haritha ibn Amr ibn al-Khazraj ibn Saida ibn Ka'b ibn al-Khazraji al-Saidi.
He was mentioned by Abd an al-Mrawizi in As-Sahaba.
He narrated with his chain of narration, from Umar ibn al-Hakam, from Usayd ibn Abi Usayd, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married a woman from Baljun, he said: So he sent me and I came to her, and I made her descend in ash-Shi'b in Ajm, then I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you with my family, he said: So I went to her, and he inclined towards her to kiss her, she said: I seek refuge in Allah from you, he said: She has sought refuge with a protector, so he returned her to her people.
Abu Musa said: This is how Abd an narrated it, and the correct one is that Umar ibn al-Hakam narrated it from Abi Usayd, and this is the famous one, and the one who sought refuge has been differed upon, it was said: Ummayma, and it was said: Malikah al-Laythiyah, and it was said: Izza, and it was said: Fatimah bint al-Dahhak.
And his saying: from Baljun: means Banu al-Jun.
