Usayd ibn Kurz

D: Usayd ibn Kرز al-Qasri (also known as Qasrī).

Ibn Muna' mentioned him, and his lineage was previously mentioned in Asad. He is the grandfather of Khalid ibn 'Abd Allah al-Qasri. It was said: His name is Asad, which is the correct one. Khalid ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid ibn Usayd reported on his father's authority, from his grandfather Asad ibn Kرز. Khalid was known for his generosity and eulogy, but he excessively criticized 'Ali. It was said: He did so out of fear of the Umayyads, and other reasons were also mentioned. He served as the governor of Iraq under Hisham ibn 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan.
