Ziyad ibn Jariya

S: Ziyad b. Jariyah al-Tamimi

Yahya b. Mahmud b. Sa'd al-Thaqafi informed us, with his isnad to Ibn Abi 'Asim, said: Ahmad b. 'Abbud Abu Ja'far Thiqah informed us, Mervan b. Muhammad informed us, Mudarik b. Sa'd informed us, Yunus b. Halbas said: I was sitting with Umm al-Dardaa, when Ziyad b. Jariyah entered upon us, so Umm al-Dardaa said to him: Your hadith about the Prophet ﷺ regarding the question, how is it? This is the part mentioned by Ibn Abi 'Asim, and he completed it, so he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever asks and has what would suffice him, then he only accumulates from the heat of Hell.'

They said: And what would suffice him, O Messenger of Allah? He said: 'What would sustain him and revive him.'

Abu Nu'aym and Abu Musa brought it out.
