Bahr ibn Dub'

Bahr ibn Dhuba ibn Atta al-Ra'ini visited the Prophet ﷺ and witnessed the conquest of Egypt, and he was known for his role in Ra'ini.

His son was: Abu Bakr al-Samin ibn Muhammad ibn Bahr, who was the governor of the ships of Damietta in the year one hundred during the caliphate of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, and his son was also: Marwan ibn Ja'far ibn Khalifa ibn Bahr, a poet who was eloquent, and he said:

My grandfather, who took the Prophet's right hand … and his journey was delayed for him

He built a house for us, whose foundations were laid on virtue … He built its upper and lower parts on glory

Abu Umar said: He mentioned all of this, his great-grandson, meaning: Abu Sa'id ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Yunus ibn Abd al-A'la, the author of the History of Egypt. The prince Abu Nasr ibn Makula also mentioned his lineage, and he said: Bahr ibn Dhuba ibn Atta ibn Yahmad ibn Muhshil ibn Uqba ibn al-Lishrakh ibn Sa'd ibn Badr ibn Sharabil ibn Hijr ibn Zayd ibn Malik ibn Zayd ibn Ra'ini, visited the Prophet ﷺ with Ya'qub ibn Ghirib ibn Abd al-Kalal. The three mentioned him.
