Biography of Buraidah ibn Sufyan al-Aslami
S: Buraydah b. Sufyan al-Aslami was mentioned by Abdan, and he said:
Our narrator, al-Hasan b. Muhammad al-Zu'farani, narrated to us, from Harun b. Ma'ruf, who narrated to us, from Abd Allah b. Wahb, who narrated to us, from Amr b. al-Harith, that Abd al-Rahman b. Abd Allah al-Zuhri informed him, from Buraydah b. Sufyan al-Aslami, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Asim b. Adi, Zayd b. Dathina, Khubayb b. Adi, and Marthad b. Abi Marthad, meaning: to a group of Banu Lihyan at al-Raji', and they fought them until they took an oath for themselves, except for Asim, for he refused, and said: I will not accept an oath from a polytheist today, and he mentioned the hadith.
Abu Musa: He narrated it and included it, and the preserved in this hadith: from al-Zuhri, from Amr b. Abi Sufyan al-Thaqafi, from Abu Hurayra, and as for Buraydah b. Sufyan, he was not one of the Companions, and he was not that in the narration, except that this is not that, I said: Asim b. Adi mentioned it, and that is an error, for he was Asim b. Thabit b. Abi al-Aqlah, and as for Asim b. Adi, he was from Banu al-Ajlani, and he was also an Ansari, and he died in the year forty-five, and he was not killed during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ.
It was narrated by Abu Musa.
