Jarayah ibn Qudamah

Jarir ibn Qudama al-Tamimi al-Sa'di, the uncle of al-Ahnaf ibn Qais, and it was said: the son of his uncle, as Ibn Mandah and Abu Nu'aym said, but Abu Nu'aym said: and it was said: he is not his uncle, nor his cousin, but his brother's brother, and this is more correct, because they only agree on Ka'b ibn Sa'd ibn Zayd Manat.

If he wanted to say: his cousin, then it might be possible, and he is: Jarir ibn Qudama ibn Malik ibn Zuhayr ibn Hisn, and it is said: Hisn ibn Razah, and it was said: Rayah ibn As'ad ibn Bujayr ibn Rabi'ah ibn Ka'b ibn Sa'd ibn Zayd Manat ibn Tamim al-Tamimi al-Sa'di, and he is known as: Abu Ayub and Abu Yazid, and he is counted among the people of Basra.

He was narrated from by the people of Medina and the people of Basra.

He told us Abu Yasir ibn Abu Habba, with his isnad to Abdullah ibn Ahmad, he said: My father told me, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Hisham, from Ibn Urwa, he told me, his father told him, from al-Ahnaf ibn Qais, from his uncle: Jarir ibn Qudama, that a man said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me a word and be brief for Ali, so he may understand it, he said: Do not be angry, and he repeated that to him several times, every time saying: Do not be angry, Yahya said: Hisham said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, and they say: he did not catch up with the Prophet ﷺ, and he was one of the companions of Ali ibn Abu Talib ﵁, and he witnessed battles with him, and he was the one who besieged Abdullah ibn al-Hasan in Basra in the house of Ibn Sanabil, and burned it down, and he was with Muawiya, who sent him to Basra to take it from him, so he went down to the Banu Tamim, and Ziyad was the governor of Basra, so he wrote to Ali, and Ali sent to him A'yan ibn Dhibiah.
