Rafi' ibn Rifa'ah

B: Rāfi' ibn Rifā'ah ibn Rāfi' ibn Mālik ibn al-'Ujlān ibn 'Amr ibn 'Āmir ibn Zariq al-Ansāri al-Khazraji al-Zariqī said: Abu 'Umar: His companionship is not valid, and the hadith narrated about him regarding earning through cupping has an error in its chain, and Allah knows best.

We were informed by 'Abd al-Wahhāb ibn Hibat Allah ibn 'Abd al-Wahhāb al-Baghdādī, with his chain of narration to 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad, who said: My father informed me, who said: We were informed by Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim, who said: We were informed by 'Ikrimah ibn 'Amār, who said: We were informed by Ṭāriq ibn 'Abd al-Rahmān al-Qurashī, who said: Rāfi' ibn Rifā'ah came to the gathering of the Ansār, and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from something that was dear to us, he forbade us from renting land, and he forbade us from earning through cupping, and he ordered us to feed him our leftovers, and he forbade us from earning through a slave, except for what she did with her own hand, and he said: Thus, with this finger, near the bread, the wool, and the engraving.
