Biography of Sa'id ibn Uthman
S: Sa'id ibn 'Uthman al-Ansari al-Zurqi, brother of 'Uqba.
Related by Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yahya ibn 'Abbad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, from his father, from 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, from al-Zubayr, who said: 'By Allah, I hear the statement of Mu'tib ibn Qushayr, my brother from Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf, as he falls asleep, nothing but a dream, when he said: If we had something to do with the matter, we would not have been killed here, then he said: {Indeed, those who turned away from you after the victory at the Horn, the Shaytan has caused them to deviate by some of what they used to earn. And indeed, Allah has forgiven them.} The ones whom Shaytan caused to deviate, then Allah forgave them: 'Uthman ibn 'Affan, Sa'id ibn 'Uthman, and al-Qasim ibn 'Uthman.'
Al-Tabarani said: 'Uthman participated in the Battle of Badr.
