Salama ibn Yazid

Dhahabi: Salama ibn Yazid Abu Yazid is considered one of the people of Basra, it is said: he is an Ansari, and it is said: he is a Dhumri, from the Banu Kinanah.

Abd al-Hamid ibn Yazid ibn Salama narrated that his grandfather had accepted Islam, and his wife refused to accept Islam, and between them was a young child, so they took him to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: 'If you wish, you may choose him', so the father sat aside, and the mother sat aside, and the child went to the mother, so the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Allah, guide him', and he returned to the Muslim father.

He also narrated from Uthman al-Batti, from Abd al-Hamid ibn Salama, from his father, that a man had accepted Islam, but his wife had not.

He was narrated by Ibn Mandah, and Abu Na'im, and they considered him different from the first, and Abu Umar did not narrate him, perhaps they thought it was the same.
