Sulayk ibn Amr

Sulayk's last name was Kafi, and he was the son of 'Amr, and it was also said: the son of Haddaba al-Ghatfani.

We were informed by Abu al-Faraj Yahya ibn Mahmd ibn Sa'd and 'Abd Allah ibn Hibat Allah ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab, through both of their chains to Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj, he said: Our informant, Ishaq ibn Ibrahim and Ibn Khashram, both from 'Isa ibn Yunus, from al-A'mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, he said: Sulayk al-Ghatfani came on a Friday, and the Prophet ﷺ was giving a sermon, so he sat down, and he said: 'Rise up, Sulayk, and perform two rak'ahs, and make them light,' then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you comes and the imam is giving a sermon, let him perform two rak'ahs and make them light.'

It was also narrated by Israel and Qays, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Sa'id and Abu Sufyan, from Jabir.

And it was said by Hafs ibn Ghiyath, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayra.

And it was narrated by a group, from Jabir, among them: 'Amr ibn Dinar, Mujahid, Abu al-Zubayr, al-Hasan, Abu Sufyan, and others.

It was reported by the three (Ibn Manda, Abū Nuʿaym, Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr).
